Job Overview

Automationtechies is a leading distributor of industrial products, focusing on instrumentation and automation solutions. We are looking for a skilled Account Manager to operate remotely, ideally from locations within the Southeast, Midwest, or Northeast regions of the United States. This role demands a blend of sales acumen and technical knowledge in instrumentation and automation.

The Account Manager will function autonomously, overseeing the sales, service, and marketing of our complete range of instrumentation and automation products while adhering to company pricing strategies to maximize profitability. This position is crucial for nurturing existing client relationships and cultivating new business opportunities. Continuous communication with clients and suppliers is essential to deliver technical assistance, product details, and pricing information.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in negotiations with clients and suppliers to finalize quotes and orders, ensuring competitive pricing and optimal profit margins.
  • Expand account portfolios by educating clients about our comprehensive value-added services.
  • Deliver detailed product, pricing, and availability information to customers.
  • Address customer inquiries and complaints swiftly and effectively.
  • Proactively identify solutions to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain customer records within the CRM system.
  • Participate in training sessions and team meetings as necessary.
  • Uphold high standards of quality in all customer interactions.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of sales experience targeting industrial clients across sectors such as oil & gas, chemical processing, power generation, and wastewater management.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience in instrumentation and control products.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the sales and marketing of Temperature, Pressure, Level, and Flow Instrumentation, along with process equipment.
  • A minimum of 3 years in strategic account management and development.
  • Experience managing a diverse account base across a wide geographical area.
  • Demonstrated success in acquiring new accounts and entering new markets in a direct sales capacity.
  • Ability to establish relationships with executive-level stakeholders.
  • Experience in developing technical proposals.
  • Strong consultative selling skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management abilities.
  • Proficient written communication and presentation skills.
  • A positive attitude, self-motivated, confident, and persistent.

Physical Demands:

  • Primarily sedentary work at a computer, in a vehicle, or during meetings.
  • Occasional lifting of demonstration items or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Work is primarily indoors with occasional exposure to extreme temperatures.
  • Some walking within industrial plants and refineries may be required.
  • Frequent use of computers and phones is necessary.
  • Must possess the ability to drive for extended periods.

Note: The annual base salary range for this position is provided as a guideline. The final salary offer will be based on various factors including work experience, education, key skills, and other relevant considerations.
