GENERAL FUNCTION:

The Branch Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the operational functions of the branch in accordance with established guidelines and protocols.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Engages in primary operational roles including teller and platform services as well as assisting in lending operations.
  • Leads, mentors, and manages branch staff regarding daily operational tasks.
  • Conducts performance evaluations for Universal Bankers and Tellers in collaboration with the Branch Sales Manager.
  • Handles daily EIM items (pay/return decisions) within defined authority limits.
  • Reviews and approves staff schedules, including overtime and leave requests.
  • Evaluates and authorizes accounts payable items (invoices); communicates decisions to the Branch Sales Manager and forwards to the Accounting Department for processing.
  • Implements and trains staff on the Branch Security Plan, including opening/closing procedures and monitoring security systems.
  • Ensures accurate processing and reporting of various items including:
  • Garnishments, tax levies, subpoenas, etc.
  • Cash items and proof corrections.
  • Cash counts and CIP verifications.
  • Counterfeit Currency Reports.
  • Mail management (USPS, UPS, interoffice, mail deposits, hold mail, etc.).
  • Night deposit logs and agreements.
  • Safe deposit box audits and verifications.
  • Collateral box management and holds for notes secured by deposit accounts.
  • Balancing and reporting of negotiable instruments.
  • Branch certification of internal controls.
  • Collaborates with Branch Sales Managers to conduct all required operational training, including disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  • Addresses customer complaints within the branch, seeking assistance from the Branch Sales Manager as necessary.
  • Conducts branch audits and resolves exceptions under the guidance of the Branch Sales Manager, providing training to prevent future occurrences.
  • Ensures compliance of branch personnel with all operational policies and procedures, including record retention.
  • Approves supply requisitions for branch operations.
  • Oversees property management in coordination with the Facilities department for maintenance and repairs.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • A minimum of five years in retail banking or related experience, with three to five years in a supervisory role preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, strong organizational skills, and excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
  • Proficient in analyzing complex financial data and providing actionable recommendations.
