We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Event and Activities Coordinator to join our team at the Nisqually Indian Tribe. This role will be responsible for planning and implementing program activities and events for the Elders Programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate safe and healthy events, educational and cultural field trips, workshops, trainings, and other social and recreational activities for program participants.
  • Plan and arrange events and activities on own initiative and prioritize workload to meet set deadlines.
  • Advertise events and activities by creating flyers, posters, and calendars; notify program participants and staff of upcoming travel, events, and activities.
  • Design, select, utilize, and evaluate educational approaches for activities and materials that are most effective in meeting the cultural, sociological, and psychological needs of the service population.
  • Coordinate with program staff to develop itineraries and agendas and provide accurate information to participants and staff.
  • Coordinate with program staff to create and implement an annual plan of activities, travel, and events.
  • Document the number of participants that attend the activities, travel, and events for future planning needs and reporting.
  • Coordinate transportation and make complex travel arrangements for participants and staff to attend activities, travel, and events.
  • Make recommendations for payments and purchases; prepare requisitions and check requests for activities and events.
  • Draft contracts for program events and activities.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 3 years' experience working with an Elders program or another similar program OR a comparable amount of experience and/or education.
  • Must be able to travel with Elders as needed with short notice for long periods of time.
  • Must have current Food Handlers Permit, CPR & First Aid Certification or the ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable under the Tribe's insurance policy.
