Surgical Technologist Level IV Position

Atrium Health Charlotte is seeking a highly skilled Surgical Technologist to join their team in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will assist in providing patient care in the surgical suite, maintaining a safe work environment, and performing all related job responsibilities. This role requires exceptional surgical technology skills, particularly in specialty areas such as neurosurgery and spine, cardiothoracic, vascular, complex orthopedics, and robotics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in obtaining and organizing supplies and instruments prior to, during, and after surgical procedures.
  • Clean and prepare instruments for terminal sterilization.
  • Assist the Registered Nurse circulator in preparing the patient, assembling supplies, instruments, equipment, and properly disposing of all specimens.
  • Participate in heightened specialized procedures, including neurosurgery and spine, cardiothoracic, vascular, complex orthopedics, and robotics.
  • Monitor surgical supplies and instrumentation for sterility prior to use and ensure that supplies are used in a judicious manner.
  • Document and submit charges accurately and appropriately.
  • Attend in-services and staff meetings, demonstrating knowledge of current department-related issues and participating in the Performance Improvement Process.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology or successful completion of a military training program for Surgical Technology or Operating Room Specialist.
  • Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider certification.
  • 5 years of total operating room experience in a surgical technologist role.
  • 2 years of specialized training in one of the following areas: neurosurgery and spine, cardiothoracic, vascular, complex ortho, and robotics.
  • Current certification required.
