Role Overview:

The Surgical Technologist is responsible for utilizing advanced surgical skills to assist in patient care within the operating room, ensuring a secure and sterile environment. Key duties include maintaining the integrity of the sterile field and ensuring high-quality patient care during surgical interventions.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Expertise in aseptic techniques and their practical application.
  • Preparation and organization of surgical instruments and supplies.
  • Facilitating patient readiness and efficient room turnover.
  • Monitoring the sterility and appropriate use of surgical materials.
  • Documenting sterilization processes and participating in educational sessions.
  • Contributing to the formulation of operational policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

A High School Diploma or GED is mandatory. Current Basic Life Support certification for Healthcare Providers is required. Candidates must have graduated from an accredited surgical technology program or completed a military training program. A minimum of 2 years of experience in an operating room setting as a Surgical Technologist is essential. Current certification is preferred.
