Atrium Health Charlotte is in search of a Surgical Technologist Level IV, specializing in the surgical field. This role is pivotal in ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care within the surgical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Surgical Technologist Level IV, you will:
1. Utilize advanced surgical technology skills to support patient care in the operating room while ensuring a safe working environment.
2. Maintain vigilance over the sterile field during surgical procedures, ensuring quality patient care.
3. Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of aseptic techniques and their practical applications.
4. Assist in the preparation and organization of surgical supplies and instruments before, during, and after procedures.
5. Collaborate with the Registered Nurse circulator in patient preparation and the assembly of necessary supplies and instruments.
6. Monitor and document sterilization processes, ensuring compliance with departmental policies.
7. Participate in staff meetings and in-service training, contributing to departmental performance improvement initiatives.
8. Engage in continuous education to enhance professional skills and meet personal development goals.
9. Serve as a mentor and clinical resource for less experienced staff members.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires:
- The ability to work in environments with occasional noise and exposure to dust and chemicals.
- Frequent physical activity, including walking, bending, and lifting up to 35 pounds.
- Proficiency in using both hands for intricate tasks, including operating surgical instruments.
- Capability to work irregular hours and adapt to changing conditions in the surgical setting.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program or completion of a military training program in surgical technology.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in an operating room setting as a surgical technologist.
- Current certification is mandatory, along with meeting all qualifications for Surgical Tech Ladder Level III.
