About the Role

Atrium Health Charlotte is seeking a highly skilled Surgical Technologist Level IV to join our team in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Job Summary:

As a Surgical Technologist Level IV, you will play a critical role in providing patient care in the surgical suite, maintaining a safe work environment, and performing all related job responsibilities. You will be responsible for ensuring quality patient care during the operative procedure and maintaining vigilance for the maintenance of the sterile field.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Apply advanced surgical technology skills to assist in providing patient care in the surgical suite.
  • Assist in obtaining and organizing supplies and instruments prior, during, and after surgical procedures.
  • Assist the Registered Nurse circulator in preparation of patients, assembly of supplies, instruments, equipment, and proper disposition of all specimens.
  • Perform duties according to department policy and procedure.
  • Monitor surgical supplies for sterility prior to use and ensure that supplies are used in a judicious manner.
  • Monitor and document sterilization activities for completion.
  • Attend in-services and staff meetings, exhibiting knowledge of current department-related issues and participating in the Performance Improvement Process.
  • Participate in educational opportunities to increase competency and meet personal needs and goals.
  • Assume responsibility for individual specified unit clinical projects as required.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology or successful completion of a military training program for Surgical Technology or Operating Room Specialist.
  • 5 years of operating room experience in a surgical technologist role.
  • Current certification required.
  • Meets all ST III qualifications of the Surgical Tech Ladder.
