Job Description:


The primary duty of the part-time Clinical Education Facilitator is to mentor, guide, and oversee students in meeting clinical objectives, which includes evaluating and analyzing student learning outcomes for the Respiratory Care Program.

This role is structured for 24 hours of clinical training. Collaborate with the Program Director and Director of Clinical Education to periodically review and enhance clinical course materials. Ensure consistent application of the program within the clinical environment. Maintain ongoing communication with the Program Director and Director of Clinical Education.

Key Responsibilities

80% Mentor, guide, and supervise students in achieving clinical objectives, which includes assessing student performance through clinical evaluations of skills and other respiratory therapy activities to ensure safe practice. Provide constructive feedback regarding clinical performance during training and clinical competencies. Regularly discuss and report student progress to the Director of Clinical Education.

Accurately verify student attendance and/or absences through the Trajecsys system, and report clinical incidents and disciplinary issues to the Director of Clinical Education and Program Director.


10% Serve as a professional role model in the clinical environment, which includes orienting students to clinical sites while maintaining confidentiality of all student records. Engage in professional development workshops, conferences, and other educational opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills. Assist in updating policies and procedures/student handbook as needed.

5% Attend all necessary faculty meetings, university meetings, and advisory board meetings.

5% Collect, evaluate, and document student learning outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications

Associates Degree

Three years of clinical practice (RRT Credential) or as an instructor in Respiratory Therapy (RRT)

A minimum of three years of clinical experience or as an instructor or preceptor in an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree

A minimum of three years of experience as an instructor or preceptor in an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program.
