  1. Instruct a community health clinical course tailored for pre-licensure nursing students. Fulfill teaching obligations in alignment with the role by collaborating with the course lead or level coordinator to review clinical course goals, evaluation standards, and student performance; undertake assigned tasks related to clinical instruction, including direct and indirect patient care duties and oversight of virtual and simulated learning environments. Additionally, clinical faculty are responsible for monitoring student progress, ensuring completion of clinical competency assessments, and organizing make-up clinical sessions within the academic term; they also focus on enhancing their clinical teaching skills and consulting with course leads or level coordinators before making adjustments to the clinical course syllabus.
  2. Contribute to the design and execution of a robust educational program aimed at achieving the specified course and level outcomes.
  3. Submit academic evaluations, maintain grade records, issue early alerts, manage incomplete grade documentation, and track attendance in accordance with institutional policies and guidelines.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to effectively fulfill each essential responsibility. A Master's degree in nursing is required, along with a minimum of two years of clinical practice experience. Prior teaching experience is advantageous. Candidates must hold credentials as an advanced practice registered nurse with licensure in the State of Louisiana or possess a compact RN license. Individuals should exhibit integrity, initiative, sound judgment, and uphold high ethical standards. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

Work Environment

Capability to engage in 12-hour clinical shifts while supervising pre-licensure BSN students.

Additional Information:

Clinical agency attestation documentation is mandatory. Proficiency in utilizing online Learning Management Systems and virtual clinical tools is required.
