Job Overview:

Role Summary:

The Evening Custodian will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of our facility. Reporting to the Senior Director of Commercial Contracts, this position involves ensuring that public, dining, and office spaces are kept clean, sanitized, and welcoming for both staff and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Perform routine cleaning tasks including dusting, mopping, and sweeping floors.
  2. Conduct floor maintenance such as buffing and spot cleaning carpets.
  3. Manage waste disposal by collecting and transporting trash, and ensuring trash containers are cleaned and lined.
  4. Maintain cleanliness of sinks and plumbing fixtures, and replenish supplies like paper towels and soap.
  5. Execute thorough cleaning duties, including polishing furniture and bright surfaces, and cleaning mirrors and windows.
  6. Sanitize kitchen and break room areas to promote a healthy environment.
  7. Ensure cleanliness in Conference, Board, and Training Rooms.
  8. Safely store and maintain cleaning equipment and supplies.
  9. Utilize appropriate cleaning agents, disinfectants, and polishes.
  10. Clean all glass surfaces and dust blinds and window sills.
  11. Vacuum carpets and mats, ensuring all areas are tidy.
  12. Disinfect high-touch areas such as door handles and knobs.
  13. Remove scuff marks from walls and perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
  2. Engage in physical activities including pulling, pushing, lifting, bending, standing, and stooping.
  3. Capable of operating cleaning machinery.

Work Environment:

This role involves both indoor and outdoor work, with exposure to dust, dirt, chemicals, and sharp objects.

Interpersonal Skills:

  1. Ability to relate effectively to individuals with diverse disabilities and backgrounds.
  2. Collaborative approach to working with team members and management.
  3. Strong communication skills to interact with others effectively.

Qualifications:

  1. Preferred experience in janitorial services or relevant training.
  2. Motivated individual with a passion for assisting others, particularly those with disabilities.
  3. Successful completion of a background check and drug screening is required.
