Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled General Engineer to join our team at the Interior, Bureau of Indian Affairs. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing construction projects, ensuring compliance with contract provisions and standards, and providing technical expertise to support the planning, designing, and construction of facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
  • Prepare and review cost estimates, project schedules, and budgets to ensure accurate and efficient project execution.
  • Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and quality in project management.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including Tribal leaders, school boards, and federal officials, to present projects and ensure adherence to schedules and designs.
  • Ensure compliance with building and safety codes and standards through document reviews and site visits.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have a strong background in engineering, with a degree in a relevant field and at least one year of specialized experience in project management, construction, or a related field. You must also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
