Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled General Engineer/Physical Scientist to join our team at the Department of Energy. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in supporting the planning and execution of complex weapon program research, design, development, and production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the integration of technical and program requirements, including safety, security, and quality assurance.
  • Conduct complex special studies, evaluations, and briefings to inform decision-making.
  • Manage program office technical processes, including requirements management and design qualification.
  • Interface with Department of Defense on matters of inter-agency requirements processes.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including reports and briefings.
Requirements
  • Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower NNSA pay band or GS grade level in the Federal Service.
  • Experience must include applying professional engineering or physical sciences concepts, theories, and practices.
  • Applicants must possess a degree in a relevant field, such as professional engineering or physical science, or a combination of education and experience that furnishes a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying professional engineering.
