Process Excellence Engineer

About the Role
Tenneco is a leading designer, manufacturer, and marketer of automotive products for original equipment and aftermarket customers. We are seeking a skilled Continuous Improvement Specialist to join our team.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate continuous improvement projects to drive cost reductions and process performance improvements.
- Provide training and coaching on continuous improvement methodologies and tools to all levels of the plant.
- Interface with plant engineering to address staffing, manpower, time, and capacity analysis.
- Maintain implementation schedules for assigned projects and provide documentation on progress and results.
- Participate in teams to resolve quality issues and concerns.
- Support production control, material control, and material planning departments in improvement projects.
- Support prototype and pilot runs to address design and process feasibility concerns.
- Generate and provide department-specific training needs.
- Calculate cost reductions and determine the optimal problem-solving method.
- Team with the Plant Controller to document savings and profit results of continuous improvement activities.
- Accountable for tracking all CI Projects and reporting progress to plant staff.
- Complete time studies to develop production standards for products.
- Assist in monitoring department equipment (OEE) and interface with Maintenance department to identify maintenance, repair, and TPM.
- Work with process owners to develop value stream maps for each process and each value stream family within the facility.
- Utilize the concepts of continuous improvement and cost reduction in the execution of the job function.
- Coordinate with internal teams to improve product quality and meet customer requirements.
Requirements
- Strong work ethic and ability to follow detailed instructions.

- Possess strong time management skills and ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to interact with employees in a professional manner and speak and write English fluently.
- Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
- Ability to perform mathematical computations quickly and accurately.
- 3+ years of experience in Operations/Engineering.
- Experience in identifying areas of improvement, Lean, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, or Process Improvement.
- Working towards Black Belt or Master Black Belt certification.
- Strong understanding of contemporary problem-solving tools and techniques.
- Ability to think creatively and propose solutions with attention to detail.
- Strong knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and database management software.
- Ability to effectively facilitate meetings and drive change management across teams.
- Ability to build effective working relationships throughout the organization.
- Ability to operate independently within a tight deadline environment.
