Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Area Service Manager (ASM), the Commercial Food Service Equipment Technician is responsible for cleaning, adjusting, and repairing various systems. This role entails performing fieldwork related to the installation, maintenance, modification, overhaul, service, and repair of commercial food service equipment. Success in this position requires a strong focus on customer satisfaction, safety, and comfort. The Commercial FSE Technician should possess patience and exceptional organizational and troubleshooting skills, as well as the ability to assist customers with inquiries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and technical expertise to our clients.
  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate commercial food service equipment.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and provide recommendations for parts replacement or system overhauls.
  • Be available for on-call emergency duty, including nights and weekends, as per the rotating schedule.
  • Identify additional maintenance needs and report them to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Communicate safety concerns to the Field Supervisor, Service Coordinator, or Service Manager.
  • Engage with customers regarding issues encountered while servicing their equipment.
  • Document work tickets and communicate purchase order numbers for job-related parts and supplies.
  • Travel to job sites within assigned service areas and coordinate schedules with the Service Coordinator.
  • Assist in evaluating new and existing customer accounts.
  • Ensure timely completion of electronic work orders before moving to the next assignment.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, service recommendations, and parts used for billing and payroll purposes.
  • Ensure all paperwork is submitted at the end of each workday.
  • Collaborate closely with the Service Coordinator to meet customer expectations.
  • Maintain the company vehicle in good working order, including regular cleaning and organization.
  • Keep proper stock of parts, tools, and safety equipment upon arrival at job sites.
  • Diagnose diverse service issues and explain necessary repairs to clients.
  • Participate in training opportunities to stay current with industry standards.
  • Identify potential opportunities for additional business.
  • Deliver consistent high-level customer service.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

  • Availability for on-call duty as part of the rotation.
Education and Experience:
  • Relevant industry certification or license.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to drive for extended periods, occasionally up to 8-10 hours.
  • Capability to operate a vehicle safely and legally.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable climbing ladders and accessing rooftops.
  • Ability to carry equipment and tools safely.
  • Willingness to wear safety gear as required.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as walking, lifting, and bending.
  • Comfortable working in various environmental conditions.
  • Proficient in using computer equipment, such as tablets and smartphones.
