Position Overview

Nhccare is seeking a dedicated Culinary Specialist to enhance our team. The Culinary Specialist is responsible for executing specific tasks to uphold exceptional standards in food preparation, production, service, and portion management, utilizing standardized recipes for all patrons.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate a genuine passion for food service and a commitment to working with elderly and healthcare clientele.
  • Possess or be eager to acquire culinary skills and food preparation techniques.
  • Understand or be willing to learn about therapeutic and modified diet guidelines to effectively prepare and serve meals.
  • Read and interpret standardized recipes to ensure quality and quantity in food production.
  • Maintain knowledge of sanitation protocols and apply them consistently.
  • Perform repetitive tasks with diligence and accuracy.
  • Exhibit outstanding customer service and communication abilities.
  • Follow both verbal and written instructions accurately.
  • Read, write, speak, and comprehend English proficiently.
  • Safely handle and understand labels on cleaning chemicals and MSDS documentation.
  • Maintain good mental and physical health.
  • Collaborate effectively with all dietary partners and departments, adhering to established center policies.
  • Fulfill job responsibilities reliably and adhere to scheduled shifts.
  • Obtain a Food Handlers Certificate or complete a Sanitation Course as mandated by state regulations.
  • Work under supervision while demonstrating prior cooking experience.
