Key Responsibilities
  • Policy Development: Create and implement inventory management policies to safeguard assets and ensure accurate accounting.
  • Procurement Guidelines: Establish protocols for inventory procurement and maintain appropriate stock valuation.
  • Training Programs: Develop and conduct training sessions for staff on inventory management best practices.
  • Internal Audits: Manage internal audits to verify adherence to policies and ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Inventory Counts: Supervise quarterly inventory assessments and ensure timely reporting.
  • Support Practices: Assist veterinary practices in resolving inventory discrepancies and cost issues.
  • SKU Management: Guide the design and management of inventory SKUs within Practice Management Systems.
  • Cost Listings: Create a comprehensive list of product and service costs for veterinary practices.
  • Price Adjustments: Ensure practices update selling prices in response to vendor price changes.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all inventory practices meet local, state, and federal regulations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
  • 3-5 years of inventory management experience in the veterinary sector.
  • Strong grasp of inventory management principles and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in multi-location operations is highly desirable.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with the capacity to manage multiple priorities.
  • Familiarity with inventory management and practice management software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Work Environment
  • Primarily office-based with occasional visits to veterinary facilities.
  • Physical demands include the ability to lift inventory items and remain seated or standing for extended periods.
  • Some travel to veterinary facilities may be required.
