About the Role:

Special Testing Laboratories, a Bethel, CT-based Construction Materials Inspection and Testing Services company, is seeking a Business Development / Sales Professional to drive new business growth and maintain existing relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage bidding, proposals, and pricing to ensure successful project execution
  • Work closely with management to maintain relationships and stay informed about upcoming projects and current project progress
  • Prospect and generate new business through leads, referrals, and customer acquisition
  • Network with local groups and associations to identify new business opportunities
  • Stay up-to-date with industry knowledge to provide expert advice to clients

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of the construction industry is a plus
  • 2-3 years of successful sales experience preferred, but the right attitude and potential can be considered
  • Minimum of an Associate's Degree required
  • Ability to set and achieve sales goals
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, time management, interpersonal, and follow-through skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with clients and coworkers
  • High level of ownership, accountability, and initiative
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Acrobat, or ability to learn
