Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer to join our team at Colliers Engineering & Design. As a key member of our Northeast Buildings team, you will be responsible for designing structural systems for buildings, foundations, and earth retention structures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform complex engineering calculations using computer software, spreadsheets, and hand calculations to ensure project safety and functionality.
  • Create detailed structural design plans and specifications in AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Coach and mentor junior staff to ensure knowledge transfer and team growth.
  • Perform project engineering tasks, including site visits, observations, and surveys.
  • Coordinate with architects, owners, and other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Review and respond to shop drawings and RFIs in a timely manner.
  • Perform quality assurance and quality control tasks to ensure project compliance.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
  • At least 7+ years of professional experience designing buildings.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other structural design software.
  • Strong understanding of steel, concrete, masonry, and wood design principles.
  • Knowledge of current building and material design codes and standards.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
