Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Homeless Support Specialist to join our team at Bowery Residents Committee. The successful candidate will provide exceptional support and services to individuals experiencing homelessness, with a focus on engagement, case management, and crisis intervention.

About the Role

  • Provide daily support and interventions to individuals in need, utilizing evidence-based practices and a client-centered approach.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized plans for clients.
  • Assist with referrals to community resources and services, ensuring seamless transitions for clients.
  • Conduct ongoing training and education for staff on de-escalation techniques, conflict resolution, and trauma-informed care.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or 3+ years of experience working with homeless populations.
  • Knowledge of Motivational Interviewing, conflict resolution, and trauma-informed care a plus.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and deadlines.
