Breaking Ground is a pioneering organization dedicated to creating supportive housing and providing essential services for individuals experiencing homelessness.

We are seeking an exceptional leader to fill the role of Director, Programs, Safe Options Support (SOS), which oversees SOS contracts serving the Rockaways and Staten Island. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing this time-limited intervention program to help support clients' journeys from homelessness to housing.

The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical understanding of relevant service delivery concepts and structures, including Housing First, client-centered Motivational Interviewing, Harm Reduction models, behavioral and medical health systems, and the ability to access and negotiate the full range of services for recipients.

This leadership role requires experience working in 24/7 programs and with homeless or formerly homeless populations. A thorough understanding of crisis intervention, risk assessments, and incident management is also essential. The Director will be responsible for supervising Assistant Directors and overseeing outreach activities and program operations while clearly communicating and collaborating with Breaking Ground's Street to Home programs, external outreach providers, city agencies, and community stakeholders.

A valid NY, NJ, or CT driver's license with a good driving record is preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams, is required. Familiarity with Access-based databases and the ability to learn new programs are also necessary.

The estimated salary for this position ranges from $87,000 to $95,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
