About the Role

Sawnee Animal Clinic is a thriving veterinary practice in a rapidly growing community. We strive to provide exceptional care to our clients and their pets, and have been doing so since our founding in 1996.

The clinic features state-of-the-art equipment, including digital radiology, dental radiology, ultrasound, and multifunction anesthesia monitors. We provide comprehensive care to a wide range of species, including cats, dogs, small farm animals, small mammals, reptiles, and birds. Our services include wellness and illness exams, general surgery, dental care, and diagnostics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Relationships
    • Develop strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and preferences.
    • Perform physical examinations and diagnostic procedures to deliver high-quality care while minimizing patient stress and discomfort.
  • Communication and Education
    • Clearly explain examination findings and communicate diagnoses to clients.
    • Present treatment plans and educate clients on preventative health care, including vaccines and nutritional products.
  • Record Keeping and Team Support
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client/patient medical records.
    • Assist colleagues in follow-up and future management of patients.
  • Professional Development
    • Stay current with new medical information and changes in veterinary medicine.
    • Attend Continuing Education meetings to enhance professional knowledge and skills.
  • Team Leadership
    • Contribute to the development of the paraprofessional team to ensure exceptional care and client service.
  • Client Focus
    • Treat every client with respect and compassion, and each patient as if they were your own.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited university.
  • Licensure and Certification
    • Licensure in good standing to practice in the state of Georgia.
  • Professional Qualities
    • Professional comportment and appearance.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive, friendly attitude.
    • Respect for and willingness to work with clients and their pets.
    • Compassionate team player who can uphold a great reputation with clients.
    • A commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine, upholding the veterinary code of ethics.
  • Preferred Qualifications
    • Proficiency in surgery.
