Job Description

The Glass Jar Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pastry Chef/Kitchen Manager to oversee the production of our made-from-scratch ice cream, sorbet, baked goods, and confections. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to the success of our company.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Produce high-quality ice cream, sorbet, baked goods, and confections daily, utilizing local and organic ingredients.
  • Become a licensed Pasteurizer and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Manage inventory and ordering systems to ensure timely production and maintain detailed recipe and systems documentation.
  • Lead the kitchen team effectively, assist in scheduling, and perform ongoing labor cost analysis.
  • Represent the business, support all operations, and update job knowledge to stay current with industry developments.
Requirements:
  • 2+ years of experience in a similar role, with a focus on pastry arts and kitchen management.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and train kitchen staff.
  • Knowledge of local and organic ingredients, with a passion for sustainability and community involvement.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on quality and customer satisfaction.
