Position Overview:
This role is integral to the Colorado Outdoor Partnership (CO-OP) and the Regional Partnerships Initiative. The mission of this position is to enhance community involvement and collaboration while addressing barriers to outdoor access. The Program Associate will assist in fostering community engagement and strategic planning alongside the Regional Partnerships program coordinators.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate the organization of workshops, meetings, and collaborative practices, including logistical support, note-taking, and facilitation.
  • Promote information exchange, networking, and cooperative efforts.
  • Create outreach and communication materials such as newsletters, social media content, reports, and website information.
  • Manage relationships with grant applicants and recipients, ensuring effective communication and support.
  • Assist in the solicitation, organization, review, and approval processes for grant applications, as well as grant management.
  • Support statewide planning initiatives aimed at enhancing outdoor experiences.
  • Represent the organization professionally at public events and forums.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of two years of professional experience in Outdoor Recreation, Natural Resources, Wildlife Management/Biology, or a related field, along with a relevant undergraduate or graduate degree. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Google Suite is essential. Candidates should demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities (both oral and written). The ability to work independently and collaboratively, engage with diverse stakeholders, and exhibit problem-solving skills is crucial.

Preferred Experience:
Experience in coalition building, community engagement, project management, and content creation is advantageous. Familiarity with best practices in justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion within conservation and outdoor contexts is a plus.
