Job Title: Senior Director of Advancement

Elmhurst University is seeking a seasoned professional to serve as Senior Director of Advancement. This key leadership position plays a critical role in advancing the University's mission and vision through strategic fundraising, alumni engagement, and community outreach.

About the Role:
  • Lead the advancement efforts of the University, including alumni relations, annual giving, major and planned giving, corporate and foundation relations, and advancement services.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive campaigns to secure operating and capital support for the University.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key donors, alumni, and community leaders to foster a culture of philanthropy and support.
  • Oversee the Advancement team, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities to ensure success.
  • Collaborate with campus partners to expand alumni engagement, student recruitment opportunities, and fundraising efforts.

Key Qualifications:
  • Proven track record of success in advancement work, with a history of developing and coordinating plans and programs to secure gift support.
  • Management skills, including hiring, training, and inspiring a high-performing Advancement team.
  • Ability to develop and lead a collaborative team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong understanding of the liberal arts and the ability to articulate the unique benefits of higher education.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Five years of related management experience in higher education advancement work.
Working Conditions:

The employee is primarily subject to indoor work, protected from weather conditions. Work is sometimes, but not always sedentary in nature and involves exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently/constantly in order to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
