Role SummaryWe are seeking a Senior Associate to contribute to the Bloomberg American Sustainable Cities (BASC) initiative, aimed at fostering community-driven collaborations with municipal governments and local leaders to promote racial wealth equity and climate resilience for marginalized populations. This role is pivotal in providing leadership and coordination within the BASC Content Learning and Strategy Support (CLASS) workstreams, which encompass a diverse team dedicated to offering strategic guidance and operational support for learning communities and technical assistance initiatives.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Associate will undertake the following core responsibilities:
- Leadership and Coordination: Collaborate closely with the Policy Director to align the program's strategy with federal funding and technical assistance efforts that address climate and racial wealth equity.
- Program Development: Analyze federal funding opportunities to ensure alignment with racial wealth equity objectives, developing policy briefs to evaluate potential impacts.
- Engagement and Training: Design and deliver engaging training sessions and workshops focused on effective implementation of federal funding programs and equitable community partnerships.
- Operational Management: Develop and maintain a strategic work plan to maximize federal funding benefits for cities, including monitoring and evaluation processes.
- Collaboration: Work with various stakeholders to facilitate effective partnerships and provide specialized technical assistance to communities.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Expertise in policy research and analysis.
- A strong commitment to social justice and an understanding of racial wealth inequity.
- Experience in advancing environmental justice initiatives and collaborating with local governments.
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
