Pre-Clinical/Clinical Faculty

We are seeking a part-time teacher-clinician to join our team at the University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry. The successful candidate will supervise pre-clinical and/or clinical student learning experiences in the discipline of preventive and restorative dentistry.
Key Responsibilities- Teach and supervise students in the Integrated Pre-clinical Technique (IPT) curricular strand.
- Participate in outcomes assessment, including student and peer evaluation, to improve curricular content and presentation.
- Assist in setting standards of care for our Dugoni School of Dentistry student clinic and participate in faculty and staff development.
- Supervise students providing clinical care of patients in the Dugoni School clinic.
- Participate in mandatory faculty calibration and development in pre-clinical and clinical areas.
- Current knowledge of dental school educational processes, restorative and preventive information and technique, and dental materials and emerging digital applications to clinical restorative treatment.
- Minimum three years of dental private practice experience for clinical instruction and supervision of patient care.
- DDS/DMD or international equivalent and completion of training from an accredited dental school program.
- Active license to practice dentistry and valid CPR certification.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population of patients, students, staff, faculty, and administration.
- Work independently with minimal supervision and work effectively in a group setting.
- Maintain confidentiality of information and demonstrate professional judgment in all situations.
Faculty should have sufficient motor function to execute movements essential to providing oral health care to patients. Must possess the motor skills to perform palpation, percussion, auscultation, and other diagnostic maneuvers, basic laboratory tests, dental preparations, and diagnostic procedures in a timely manner.
CompensationThe hiring range is $40 per hour. We consider factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's qualifications, internal equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
