The Department of Pediatric Dentistry at the University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry, invites applications for a part-time, teacher-clinician position in pediatric dentistry. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching pediatric dentistry at the pre-doctoral level, as well as participating in community outreach activities and other departmental responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities- Teach pediatric dentistry to pre-doctoral students in a humanistic manner, emphasizing the importance of providing oral healthcare to children.
- Participate in community outreach activities, including organizing and coordinating outreach events with the student-organized outreach group (SCOPE).
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the department's curriculum, including preclinical and clinical instruction.
- Collaborate with departmental faculty and staff to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
- Current knowledge of pediatric dentistry, including the current edition of the AAPD Pediatric Dentistry Reference Manual.
- DDS/DMD or international equivalent degree from an ADA-accredited school of dentistry.
- Certificate or Master's degree indicating successful completion of an ADA-accredited specialty training program in pediatric dentistry.
- Current, active license to practice dentistry.
- Valid CPR certification.
- Board certification by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population of patients, students, staff, faculty, and administration.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced academic environment, with frequent interactions with students, faculty, and staff. The position requires the ability to work effectively in a team environment and to maintain confidentiality of information.
