Job Summary

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the aboveground storage tank and specialty vessel business lines. This includes supervising craft employees, ensuring compliance with safety policies and procedures, and maintaining effective communication with various departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the work of craft employees to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Develop and implement safety procedures to minimize risks and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with the safety department, engineering, estimating, and planning to ensure work complies with safety policies, drawings, specifications, and schedules.
  • Conduct accident investigations and implement corrective measures to prevent future incidents.
  • Maintain liaison with other departments, including material control, purchasing, quality control, and engineering, to ensure all required materials, equipment, and inspections support craft activities and project schedules.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as directed by management.

Requirements

  • 6+ years' experience in a similar facility, including construction technology, methods, equipment, tools, and work procedures; 1+ year's experience supervising craft employees.
  • 4-year engineering degree or equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
  • Experience working with aboveground storage tanks and specialty vessels is required.
  • Advanced understanding of construction scheduling and cost control.
  • Ability to supervise large groups and apply innovative management techniques to maximize performance.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
