Houston, Texas, United States PO&G Resources, LP Full time

Company Overview

PO&G Resources is a dynamic and expanding private oil and gas enterprise with a robust history spanning twenty-five years. Following the successful acquisition of several producing properties and the initiation of a second investor fund, we are currently seeking a Production Superintendent to join our team at our Houston headquarters. This role is pivotal in overseeing the company’s field operations.

Our firm specializes in acquiring both conventional and unconventional oil and gas assets, enhancing their value through improved operational strategies such as artificial lift, water flood optimization, and vertical infill drilling. Our operational footprint includes regions in Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, Kansas, Indiana, Wyoming, North Dakota, Utah, and Mississippi, with West Texas, Wyoming, and Oklahoma being our primary areas of focus. Currently, our gross/net production stands at 5,000/3,500 BOE/D, and we aim to sustain our historical growth trajectory by doubling production every three years.

At PO&G, we pride ourselves on our entrepreneurial culture that fosters opportunity and innovation. Our team comprises high-impact professionals from various sectors, including oil companies and financial institutions. Employees are encouraged to engage in diverse activities as new properties are acquired, ensuring continuous challenges and growth opportunities. Direct access to senior management promotes a rewarding and non-bureaucratic work environment.

Position Overview

We are in search of a qualified individual to take on the role of Production Superintendent. This position entails actively managing the firm’s field operations, collaborating with engineering and field personnel to oversee daily operations, production levels, and costs associated with approximately 400 wells and related assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee lease profitability, production metrics, and cost objectives.
  • Supervise field personnel to meet production and cost targets while addressing any production discrepancies.
  • Monitor and enhance chemical programs and well production testing systems.
  • Assist the engineering team in optimizing waterflood operations, including surface facilities, chemical programs, and injection pattern balancing.
  • Guide field personnel in vendor selection processes for production operations.
  • Optimize artificial lift techniques, including rod pumps and ESPs, and manage their implementation through field staff.
  • Supervise the execution of capital investment initiatives.
  • Coordinate with regulatory analysts to secure necessary drilling, saltwater disposal, and other state regulatory filings.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of fifteen years of hands-on field experience with an oil and gas operator, including at least five years in a supervisory capacity. A comprehensive understanding of production operations, including artificial lift design, surface facilities, production chemicals, and water injection, is essential.

  • Demonstrated leadership and organizational capabilities, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills to direct field personnel and keep management informed of operational performance and challenges.
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with management, field personnel, and engineering teams.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Expertise in artificial lift designs and optimization for conventional oil wells, particularly with rod pumps and ESPs.
  • A proactive self-starter who can effectively manage production and cost targets while maintaining open communication with engineers, field personnel, and management.
  • A practical and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving, with a hands-on management style.

Compensation: Salary will be commensurate with experience.
