Position Overview:
As a Training Systems Technician (Field Engineer) for the F-35 program, you will play a vital role in supporting the maintenance, operation, and sustainment of F-35 training devices. Your responsibilities will include installing components and assemblies into various systems, conducting preventive maintenance checks, and documenting maintenance activities. You will also assist in the installation and testing of modifications to equipment.

Your role will involve ensuring that simulation devices meet availability standards. You will apply your technical expertise to troubleshoot complex issues by interpreting design documents and manuals. Additionally, you will maintain records of cabling schemes and drawings, and establish maintenance programs in accordance with company and vendor standards. Other related duties may be assigned as necessary.


Collaboration with fellow Lockheed Martin training team members on-site will be essential to achieving F-35 training objectives. You will also support Lockheed Martin initiatives and comply with site security protocols as per program and customer guidelines.


It is imperative to sanitize all classified media in accordance with established procedures. The ideal candidate will have experience interacting with diverse functional areas and personnel. Flexibility in work hours may be required to accommodate customer needs, and travel to support other sites may also be necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must possess a Final Transferable Secret security clearance, with the last Periodic Reinvestigation completed within the last six years.
  • Ability to attain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) access.
  • Experience with simulation hardware and software.
  • Proficient in reading and utilizing technical schematics, drawings, and manuals to resolve complex issues.
  • Willingness to support flexible work hours to align with customer operational schedules.
  • Current Security+ certification or ability to obtain it within three months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree

  • Experience with F-35 Training Devices, particularly in Full Mission Simulator (FMS) and/or Mission Rehearsal Trainer (MRT).
-Minimum of two years of experience with aviation simulation systems.

  • Demonstrated hardware and software support experience in a training and simulation environment.
  • Experience in network troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with classified/access-controlled environments.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information to various audiences.
  • Capability to lead and mentor team members.
  • Possession of a current Security + certificate.
-Experience in system administration of Windows and/or Linux server environments.

  • Knowledge of disaster recovery methods, cloning, and backup solutions.
  • Experience with Hyper-V, deploying VHDs, and virtual computing.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, and file sharing.
  • Aptitude for mentoring and developing team members.
  • In-depth understanding of military publications and fourth/fifth generation aircraft training operations.
  • Prior experience coordinating with program SMEs, engineers, and field service technicians.

Security Clearance Statement:
This position necessitates a government security clearance; applicants must be U.S. citizens for consideration.

Clearance Level:
Secret with Investigation or CV date within five years.
