Position Summary

U.S. Bank is in search of a CICS/MQ Systems Programmer specializing in z/OS with a background in application analysis to play a vital role in our technological endeavors. This position entails the design, implementation, integration, and support of a variety of mainframe and supplementary products. You will assess user hardware and software requirements and recommend enhancements or new acquisitions. Your responsibilities will include evaluating both new and existing software solutions, defining system scope and objectives, and engaging in all phases of systems analysis and implementation activities. Collaboration with requestors is essential to ensure a thorough and successful deployment. You will provide status updates to senior management and involve them as necessary to resolve issues promptly. Additionally, you will analyze, implement, maintain, and document mainframe system software, perform software installations and upgrades for CICS, IBM MQ z/OS, and related products, and troubleshoot software issues to provide effective resolutions. Your role will also encompass the technical design and development necessary for the efficient development and implementation of business application systems.

Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a comprehensive information technology (IT) environment
- At least 7 years of experience in the design, development, and support of technology infrastructure

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Extensive expertise in: System software infrastructure, Technical troubleshooting, and Software installation/support
  • Hands-on experience in system programming
  • Experience supporting CICS in a CPSM configuration and IBM MQ z/OS
  • Subject Matter Expert in IBM z/OS Operating System
  • Proficient in JES2, JCL, and TSO/ISPF
  • Experience with system and transaction dump analysis
  • Familiarity with COBOL, Assembler, or other programming languages
  • Hands-on experience with scripting languages such as REXX, CLIST, or SAS
  • Experience in installation, maintenance, and support of Third Party Vendor Products
  • Collaboration with vendors to address issues and provide documentation
  • Experience in IT service change management and IT availability management
This role offers a hybrid/flexible work schedule, requiring in-office attendance for three or more days per week, with the option to work remotely for the remaining days.
