Position Overview

Insight Global is in search of a talented and seasoned Lead Software Application Engineer who is dedicated to crafting innovative applications, delivering customer satisfaction, and pioneering new solutions for our insurance clientele. This role requires an individual who excels at navigating the software stack seamlessly, enabling modifications at the optimal junction between the user interface and backend operations.

The ideal candidate will consistently develop hypotheses and strive to validate or refute them in a live environment by implementing incremental changes regularly. A strong determination to tackle complex technical challenges while maintaining a focus on quality outcomes is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research, design, develop, and deploy new solutions utilizing C#, SQL, Azure, and other advanced technologies.
  • Design and implement new data-driven, web-based applications and analytics solutions.
  • Architect and formulate comprehensive solution designs.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues in existing application code.
  • Perform programming and analytical tasks as needed.
  • Develop ETL processes for client implementations.
  • Guide junior developers in accordance with industry best practices and standards.
  • Review colleagues' work to ensure quality outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of programming experience.
  • Experience in software architecture and design.
  • Proficiency in several technologies including C#, ASP.NET, MVC, XML, JSON, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and jQuery.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL or other relational databases.
  • Familiarity with managed services on cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS.
  • Experience with reporting tools (e.g., Microsoft Reporting Services, Power BI, Tableau).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Adherence to strong coding standards and best practices.
  • Extensive experience initiating projects from the ground up.
  • Knowledge of payer healthcare claim data, eligibility data, and the healthcare industry.
  • Experience with systems methodologies.
  • Ability to work with various large data sets (e.g., Azure Synapse, Databricks, Data Lakes).
  • Familiarity with source code management systems.
