Job Description

Ryder is seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to join our team in Hilo, HI. As a Master Level Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing routine preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy-duty vehicles.

Responsibilities
  • Perform standard vehicle maintenance and repairs, including oil changes, brake and tire work
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electronic problems
  • Perform remote triage to assist roadside breakdowns
  • Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints
  • Coach and mentor other technicians
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Vocational or technical certification, preferred
  • Basic tools, required
  • Demonstrated aptitude and experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
  • Four (4) years or more relevant work experience, preferred
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred
