Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at The Dewitt Companies. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on our fleet of vehicles, including engines, transmissions, and differentials. You will also be responsible for troubleshooting and diagnosing complex problems, and for maintaining accurate records of services and repairs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on fleet vehicles, including engines, transmissions, and differentials

• Troubleshoot and diagnose complex problems with engines, transmissions, and other vehicle systems

• Maintain accurate records of services and repairs, including work orders and maintenance schedules

• Collaborate with other technicians and supervisors to ensure efficient and effective repair and maintenance operations

• Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and techniques in diesel engine repair and maintenance

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic or in a related field

• Proficiency with computer software and diagnostic tools

• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy objects and materials, often exceeding 50 pounds

• Physical stamina to stand, crouch, and kneel for extended periods during the workday

• Capability to climb ladders or scaffolding to reach high places and work under vehicles

• Personal tools required, large and specialty tools will be provided by The Dewitt Companies

Preferred Qualifications:

• Brake Certification (ACE)

• Welding knowledge

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
