The Lead

Product Innovator will develop groundbreaking and cost-effective products that embody the Forever 21 brand by monitoring and predicting trends, creating detailed development sheets, and collaborating with Forever 21's extensive vendor network.


Responsibilities:
1. Conduct thorough research on fashion publications, competitor websites, street style, and runway presentations to remain informed about emerging trends.

2. Conceptualize design ideas that align with Forever 21's quality standards.

3. Translate design concepts into development sheets, detailing materials, colors, and construction methods for each item.

4. Liaise with international vendors and buyers regarding all facets of the development process.

5. Follow up with vendors and factories on all styles, communicating any modifications or additional information.

6. Collaborate with vendors to source trims and fabrics.

7. Gain insight into global Development Lead-Times; leverage this knowledge to facilitate quicker turnaround times with vendors.

Qualifications:
- An Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Merchandising, Design, or a related field is required.

- A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in product development is essential.

- A keen eye for design and the ability to research and monitor the latest trends is necessary.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must.

- Strong problem-solving abilities and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks within deadlines are required.

- Fabric knowledge and experience in apparel are crucial.

- Effective communication with both domestic and international vendors is essential.

- Proficiency in basic Microsoft Office and Excel is required.

ADDITIONAL DATA:
The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $90,000 annually. Compensation is based on various factors, including but not limited to the position offered and work experience.

In addition to your salary, Forever 21 and its affiliated brands offer a benefits package that includes a 401(k) plan, overtime pay, a flexible work schedule, and a generous employee discount program (all benefits are subject to eligibility).
