Position Summary:

The Senior Affordable Housing Manager will oversee the management of designated properties, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations while fostering a supportive environment for residents and staff. This role involves mentoring team members and driving operational excellence in property management.

Property Overview:

This position entails managing approximately 130 residential units across two distinct locations. The communities cater to residents aged 62 and above, featuring both five-story and two-story buildings. Given the federal funding associated with these properties, a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in affordable or senior housing is essential. A Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS) designation is mandatory for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

Rent Management:

  • Prepare and verify eligibility certifications and re-certifications in line with relevant guidelines.
  • Oversee the collection of rents and other receivables, maintaining accurate records.
  • Manage security deposits in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

Financial Oversight:

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports, ensuring compliance with corporate policies.
  • Maintain accurate records and accounts in alignment with budgetary guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors regarding scheduling and billing matters.

Team Leadership:

  • Train and supervise on-site staff to meet operational goals, including conducting performance reviews and training sessions.
  • Facilitate regular meetings to ensure alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Maintain effective communication with vendors and contractors.

Administrative Duties:

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws regarding applications and leases.
  • Maintain accurate resident files and assist in preparing documents for management reviews.
  • Submit required reports to the corporate office in a timely manner.

Resident Engagement:

  • Promote a positive customer service culture while interacting with residents.
  • Conduct inspections during resident move-ins and move-outs.
  • Coordinate resident events and programming to enhance community engagement.

Maintenance Coordination:

  • Conduct regular property inspections and implement a preventative maintenance plan.
  • Oversee maintenance schedules and ensure timely completion of repairs.

Leasing Activities:

  • Implement leasing policies and manage marketing campaigns for property leasing.
  • Facilitate the waitlist process for new affordable housing opportunities.

Safety Protocols:

  • Ensure the safety and security of residents by reporting incidents promptly.
  • Conduct monthly safety meetings and implement emergency preparedness plans.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years of experience in property management, preferably in affordable housing.
  • Certification as a Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS) is required.
  • Proficiency in both English and Spanish is preferred.

Compensation:

The position offers an annual salary range of $50,000 - $52,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, vision, and dental insurance, on-site parking, and paid time off.
