Position Overview
Under the guidance of the Production & Fulfillment Manager, the Production Support Specialist will assist in various operational tasks at Equator Coffees. This entry-level role is well-suited for individuals who possess a strong work ethic, keen attention to detail, and a genuine eagerness to learn and develop within the organization. As a Production Support Specialist, you will have the chance to observe and gain insights from seasoned Production Associates and Production Leads, acquiring valuable hands-on experience in a collaborative team setting. This part-time position may require availability during holidays and weekends as necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate as part of a dynamic team to accurately and efficiently fulfill wholesale and retail orders.
- Acquire skills to operate various production equipment, including weigh and fill machines, band sealers, scales, grinders, label applicators, and label printers.
- Assist in inventory replenishment.
- Maintain regular communication with team members to ensure precise fulfillment and production processes.
- Engage in cleaning and organizing workspaces, along with basic equipment upkeep.
- Demonstrate initiative, maintain a positive and professional demeanor, and exhibit adaptability and a willingness to learn and follow guidance.
- Ability to follow instructions effectively.
- Capacity to work collaboratively within a team.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with fulfillment, shipping, receiving, and general warehouse operations is advantageous.
- Knowledge of coffee is a plus.
The following physical demands outline the requirements necessary for employees to effectively carry out the essential functions of this position. Please note that the work environment may be non-climate-controlled, exposing employees to varying temperatures.
During the performance of duties, employees are expected to engage in regular communication, auditory perception, and reading tasks. Reasonable accommodations will be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to fulfill essential job functions. This role is dynamic and involves prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, stooping, climbing ladders, and crouching throughout the shift. Additionally, employees will be required to lift products and packaging overhead and may frequently handle items weighing between 25 and 70 pounds. Essential vision capabilities for this role encompass close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Furthermore, adept finger and wrist dexterity are essential for successful performance in this position.
