Overview:

Umbrex is currently in search of an Interim Plant General Manager to oversee all facets of our manufacturing operations. This role will entail responsibility for the overall financial performance, strategic direction, and organizational development of our textile production facilities.

Position Summary:

We are looking for a seasoned Plant General Manager (GM) with a proven track record in scaling manufacturing businesses. The GM will be tasked with managing a multi-site operation with over 100 employees and a revenue of $20M, directly reporting to the CEO.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct all aspects of the business, establishing and guiding strategic initiatives.
  • Enhance the performance of the management team and workforce while aligning with the company's core values and service philosophy.
  • Foster a culture of integrity, excellence, and accountability.
  • Drive financial success to meet growth targets, navigating through economic fluctuations.
  • Prioritize operational excellence, continuous improvement, and the achievement of key performance indicators.
  • Expand the sales function to support geographical growth with suitable margin profiles.
  • Attract, develop, and retain talent essential for achieving company growth objectives and maximizing shareholder value.
  • Identify and capitalize on growth opportunities in collaboration with the Group CEO and private equity partners.

Specific Duties:

  • Implement the company's strategy to surpass financial performance benchmarks.
  • Make informed strategic decisions based on market, customer, and economic insights.
  • Explore new market or product opportunities that contribute to revenue and profitability goals.
  • Lead the adoption of continuous improvement methodologies and standardized business processes.
  • Build and nurture a robust management team throughout the organization.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including the board, management, shareholders, and employees.
  • Maximize profitability through revenue enhancement and cost optimization.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the company's products, operations, and market landscape.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • 10-15 years of experience in industrial manufacturing with a demonstrated ability to grow revenue and profitability.
  • Previous full P&L responsibility for a multi-site manufacturing operation.
  • Proven history of driving revenue and profitability growth through operational excellence and innovation.
  • Familiarity with financial management, including oversight of income statements, balance sheets, and cash flows.
  • Capability to scale an organization while cultivating high-performing teams.

Education Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree is mandatory; a master's degree in business administration or engineering is advantageous.

Employment Type: 1099 interim position, with potential for permanent employment.

Work Schedule: Full-time, 5 days a week.

Compensation: $100 - $150 per hour, paid monthly.
