Position Overview:

Southern Botanical is in search of a full-time Arboriculture Operations Manager. The successful candidate will oversee the daily sales and production functions of a branch consisting of 25 team members. This role includes managing personnel, ensuring top-notch service delivery, maintaining client relationships, and achieving financial objectives. Strong leadership, organizational capabilities, and a solid understanding of arboriculture are essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership

  • Recruit, train, mentor, and supervise branch personnel, including arborists, business developers, supervisors, and administrative staff.
  • Promote a positive and safe work environment that encourages teamwork and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular performance assessments and provide ongoing coaching and development opportunities.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive branch culture.

Financial Management

  • Prepare and oversee the branch operating budget, ensuring profitability and effective cost management.
  • Monitor financial metrics, including revenue, expenses, and profitability.
  • Develop and implement strategies to meet financial goals and expand the branch's reach.
  • Utilize data to manage operations effectively.

Operational Effectiveness

  • Supervise daily branch operations to ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Implement and uphold company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Coordinate scheduling and logistics to optimize productivity and resource use.

Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, addressing their needs and concerns promptly.
  • Conduct site assessments and consultations to evaluate client requirements and provide expert recommendations.
  • Ensure high levels of client satisfaction through quality service and effective communication.

Sales and Marketing

  • Lead business development initiatives to attract new clients and enhance the branch's market presence.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to create promotional campaigns and sales strategies.
  • Prepare and present proposals, bids, and contracts to prospective clients.

Technical Expertise

  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to arboriculture.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to staff and clients regarding tree care, maintenance, and safety.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations in all tree care activities.

Perform other incidental and related duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Arboriculture, Forestry, Horticulture, or a related field (preferred).
  • Certified Arborist credential from the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) (preferred).
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in tree care services, with at least 2 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of arboriculture practices, tree biology, pest management, and safety regulations.
  • Proven success in managing a multi-million-dollar budget.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with Aspire and Acumatica is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel within the branch territory.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily office-based with regular field visits to client locations.
  • Exposure to various weather conditions and outdoor environments.
  • May require working outside regular business hours to meet client needs and operational demands.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
