Position Overview:

The University of New Mexico is in search of a Senior Business Systems Analyst to join our esteemed Division of Information Technologies. This role is pivotal in managing the workflow and intake processes for our essential enterprise application suite.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Senior Business Systems Analyst, you will:
  1. Lead the Intake Process: Oversee the management of incoming requests to ensure they are addressed promptly and in alignment with our performance metrics and client expectations.
  2. Conduct Business and Technical Analysis: Collaborate with various stakeholders to gather and document system requirements, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of both internal and external processes.
  3. Coordinate Workload Monitoring: Work closely with the IT Applications Team and other departments to effectively schedule resources and manage project timelines.
  4. Support Governance Processes: Facilitate the management of incoming requests, ensuring they are directed to the appropriate teams and that workload data is accurately maintained.
  5. Documentation and Standards Development: Assist in the creation and updating of IT Applications standards and documentation to enhance operational efficiency.

Essential Duties:
  • Manage and coordinate project requests and incidents for the Applications Development Team.
  • Gather and document requirements, guiding projects through prioritization and scheduling.
  • Act as a liaison between end-users and IT teams, fostering strong business relationships.
  • Provide detailed analysis and engage in process improvement initiatives with key stakeholders.
  • Establish tools and processes to monitor and validate workload effectively.
  • Participate in quality assurance and standardization efforts.
  • Document all activities in our knowledge base using various formats to ensure clarity and accessibility.
  • Train team members on Business Analysis methodologies as needed.
  • Advocate for continuous improvement within the division by suggesting enhancements to existing processes and systems.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:
  • A minimum of 60 college-level credit hours and at least 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
  • Experience in translating customer needs into technical solutions.
  • Proficiency in problem-solving and the ability to work in a dynamic environment.
  • Familiarity with ITIL and Lean Six Sigma methodologies is advantageous.
