Overview:

A leading entity in the sports sector is in search of a proficient Director of Technology Operations to spearhead a team responsible for managing the technical components of live sports broadcasting. This position is primarily technical, coupled with managerial duties, and necessitates an individual who can oversee and actively engage in back-end engineering tasks.

Core Responsibilities:

Leadership: Direct and mentor a team comprising specialists in audio, video, digital, and engineering disciplines. Offer guidance and training to junior staff, promoting their professional development.

Technical Oversight: Supervise and participate in back-end engineering tasks, including fiber optics, cabling, camera operations, and broadcast center management. Proficiency in IP, wireless technologies, and audio systems is crucial.

Equipment Management: Employ industry-standard cameras and switchers, while managing the video playback systems. Ensure all equipment operates at peak performance for live broadcasts.

Venue Expertise: Preference will be given to candidates with experience in outdoor venues, although indoor experience will also be taken into account.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in live sports broadcasting, television, or sports production is required.
  • Extensive hands-on technical experience is necessary.
  • Proven leadership and management experience is essential.
  • Ability to work on-site in New York is required.
