Job Title: Head of Trade Services Operations

At Customers Bank, we're committed to delivering exceptional customer experiences and driving innovation in the financial industry. As the Head of Trade Services Operations, you'll play a critical role in shaping our trade services operations and ensuring seamless execution of our business strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the day-to-day operational activities for the bank's Standby and Trade Letters of Credit function, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, turnaround time, and service quality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement best practices, driving operational excellence and innovation.
  • Manage crisis situations through effective escalation and issue resolution.
  • Develop and implement business plans, internal procedures, and project management strategies to drive results.
  • Support a wide range of stakeholders, including Product Sales, Client Service, vendors, and Tech Support, to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Monitor daily Service Level Agreements, productivity, hold items, and suggest recommendations for improvement.
Requirements:
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Uniform Customs and Practice for Documentary Credits (UCP 600), International Standby Practices (ISP98), and Guide to International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Uniform Rules for Demand Guarantees (URDG 758).
  • Knowledge of Boycott regulations and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) compliance.
  • Strong decision-making capability and analytical skills to anticipate issues and develop comprehensive systems.
  • 10-15 years of experience in Trade, with a strong business knowledge of Trade products, processes, and systems.
  • Leadership and staff development skills, with prior team management experience and ability to identify talent, recruit, coach, mentor, and develop team members.
  • Ability to develop strategy for end-to-end solutions and process-oriented approach, with excellent attention to detail and ability to know when a deep dive approach is appropriate.
  • Confidence to challenge and be challenged, while maintaining a positive 'can-do' outlook and ability to spur results through a hands-on approach.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills, with ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with business and technical parts of the organization.
