Operations Manager

As an Operations Manager at Service Corporation International, you will oversee the overall administrative function of a funeral home, cemetery, and/or crematory operation. You will manage and coordinate the activities of support staff to ensure the highest quality services and products are provided.

  • Direct supervision of two or more full-time employees
  • Oversee processing of accounting support functions, including collections, billing, verifications, and payments of invoices, petty cash
  • Assign and control storage inventory
  • Coordinate completion and filing of various forms and reports; verify accuracy
  • Administer local HR processes as applicable
  • Collaborate and support all other departments within the business unit
  • Review time cards and administer corporate payroll policies and procedures
  • Facilitate vendor coordination and supervision
  • Pull monthly reports for key performance indicators
  • Train staff in processes and procedures
  • Process expense reports and track Capital Expenditure Authorizations
  • Conduct Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) Audits
  • Assist associates in ensuring all documentation is SOX compliant
  • Maintain vehicle records and licenses
  • Update General Price Lists and approve contracts as necessary
  • Manage Alarm Systems, including codes, working order, etc.
  • Monitor document retention policies and dispose of expired documents in a secure manner
  • Prepare customer statements
  • Provide a collaborative, productive workplace environment for associate growth and development that instills pride, a sense of ownership, and the challenge to associates to exceed expectations
  • Assure compliance with all company policies and procedures
