Job Summary

The Insurance Reimbursement Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient collection of revenue and maximizing revenue opportunities. This position works closely with the Insurance Reimbursement and Patient Financial Specialist teams to achieve this goal.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and mentor the Insurance Reimbursement and Patient Financial Specialist teams to ensure consistent follow-up and appeal of unpaid, partially paid, or denied claims.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Revenue to monitor and report on billing metrics and strategic revenue opportunities.
  • Work with the EPIC Specialist Team and Director of Revenue to develop revenue rules for an improved billing process.
  • Monitor collection and accounting of payer revenues, including billing of all claims, collections, and follow-up on existing accounts receivable.
  • Supervise and train staff on billing and collections for Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers.
  • Develop and implement effective staffing schedules that are sensitive to productivity and workflow requirements.
  • Conduct regular audits of operational processes and provide counsel and training as needed.
  • Support staff efforts in resolving customer service and billing issues.
  • Recommend and implement changes to billing and coding policies and procedures as necessary.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2-3 years of medical billing and collections experience.
  • 1-3 years of lead or supervisory experience in healthcare.
  • Knowledge of managed care, Medicare, and Medicaid guidelines.
  • Extensive working knowledge of billing and collections for Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to problem-solve.
  • Ability to meet and comply with HIPAA/Confidentiality policies and procedures.
