M. A. Mortenson is currently in search of a seasoned Electrical Project Supervisor to join our Energy Storage Group. This role requires the ability to engage with various staff members at all levels in a dynamic environment, maintaining flexibility, resourcefulness, enthusiasm, and efficiency, while upholding a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality. As a supervisor, you will be tasked with providing coordination, planning, and oversight to assistant supervisors, contractors, and craft activities within a specific discipline.

Compensation:

The base salary range for this position is $118,000 - $177,000. Actual compensation may vary based on location and individual qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organizational skills, adaptability, excellent customer service, and strong communication are essential for performing duties, which include but are not limited to:
  • Planning and executing to ensure all materials, equipment, and inspections align with the project timeline.
  • Reviewing construction documents for completeness and feasibility.
  • Understanding and analyzing contract documents.
  • Coordinating plans and specifications with design engineers to resolve discrepancies.
  • Participating in the development and management of project schedules, including three and six-week look-ahead schedules.
  • Creating a site logistics plan.
  • Leading the use of Mortenson tools and equipment.
  • Collaborating with project partner supervisors.
  • Providing coaching, supervision, and development responsibilities.
  • Conducting on-site project orientations.
  • Facilitating effective pre-construction planning sessions and project site meetings.
  • Supervising project partners, craft foremen, and crews.
  • Mentoring, managing, and evaluating the performance of Assistant Supervisors, General Foremen, and Foremen.
  • Overseeing the hiring, transferring, and if necessary, termination of craft team members.
  • Ensuring accurate task coding of work hours on timecards.
  • Tracking work progress and craft productivity.
  • Managing training for craft team members to ensure they are prepared before commencing tasks.
  • Conducting career development discussions with foremen and craft team members.
  • Other assigned duties, including:
  • Providing high-level management of safety, quality, risk, and compliance for the project and team members.
  • Identifying and mitigating unfavorable working conditions.
  • Seeking opportunities to enhance processes and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of eight years of construction experience, with at least two years in a supervisory role.
  • Experience with large utility projects is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the Utilities and Energy Storage industry is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with inverter and DC battery technology is preferred but not mandatory.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple, complex projects effectively.
  • Attention to detail sufficient to organize and lead various project tasks.
  • A basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • A positive and professional demeanor, along with strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies.

Education:

An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering, or Construction Management, or 10 years of trade experience.
