Position Overview
The Motor Vehicle Client Service Representative I plays a crucial role in providing exceptional service to a high volume of customers daily. This dynamic position requires candidates to operate independently while making informed decisions.

Key Responsibilities
Attention to detail is paramount, as the role involves the review, verification, coding, and processing of applications related to various motor vehicle registrations, driver licenses, and identification cards. Candidates must possess strong customer service skills and the ability to handle significant monetary transactions accurately.

Work Schedule
This is a full-time position, operating Monday through Friday from 7:45 AM to 4:30 PM, with the possibility of overtime. The role is not remote, and work will be conducted at designated state offices.

Eligibility
This position is open to all state employees and external applicants. Interested candidates must apply online to be considered.

Background Requirements
In accordance with state regulations, applicants must consent to fingerprinting and a background investigation, which may include checks of criminal, financial, and traffic records.

Environmental Factors
Incumbents will need to work efficiently under pressure, interacting with the public and managing telephone inquiries. The role entails exposure to various public health risks and requires the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.

Qualifications
Applicants should have a minimum of two years of experience in a customer service role, such as retail, hospitality, or government, involving significant public interaction and regular use of computer systems. Alternatively, candidates with four months of experience within the Vermont Department of Motor Vehicles may also qualify.

Performance Standards
Successful candidates will be expected to serve customers promptly while maintaining a minimum production level of three transactions per hour with an error rate of 1% or less. Proficiency in licensing or registration processes is required.
