Job Summary

The State of Vermont is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Motor Vehicle Inspector to join our team. As a Motor Vehicle Inspector, you will be responsible for protecting Vermont consumers through enforcement and education at our licensed inspection stations and dealerships. This role requires a strong investigative background and a background in automotive diagnostics and repair is preferred.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enforce and educate at licensed inspection stations and dealerships
  • Protect Vermont consumers through enforcement and education
  • Investigate and address fraudulent activity
  • Monitor and hold accountable participants in the Total Abstinence (TA) Program
  • Screen new applicants for the TA Program
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have a high school diploma and three years of law enforcement experience. You must also be a full-time certified Vermont law enforcement officer at the time of hire and have a current valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

A background in automotive diagnostics and repair is preferred.
