About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Interior Lighting Product Development Engineer to join our team at Ford Motor Company. As a key member of our Product Development team, you will be responsible for delivering innovative and high-quality interior lighting systems for our vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interface with program teams to deliver interior lighting commodities for assigned programs.
  • Lead sourcing discussions and conduct technical design reviews with component suppliers.
  • Create specifications, quality documents, and drawings for components.
  • Utilize core engineering documents and design rules to initiate and lead Full-Service Supplier delivery of DFMEA, DVP&Rs, 8D's, and other program-specific foundation documents.
  • Interface with design studio, HMI/Ergo, VO, feature owners, architecture, interior, and exterior cross-functional teams to deliver interior lighting commodities on time, on target, and with quality.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in design and release of electrical or electronic components.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Strong understanding of diagnostic tools and ability to troubleshoot vehicle/system/subsystem interfaces related to interior lighting.
  • Basic understanding of LIN/CAN communication protocols.
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently and as a team to deliver on time with quality.
  • Strong people and program management skills.
