Job Description

At Ford Motor Company, we're seeking a talented Exterior Lighting Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative exterior lighting systems for our vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute technical solutions for exterior lighting components to support new vehicle programs
  • Perform complex engineering evaluation analysis to ensure compliance with global lighting regulations
  • Work cross-functionally with suppliers, designers, engineers, and manufacturing teams to implement cost savings and product improvements
  • Balance attributes such as cost, weight, complexity, and timing to deliver high-quality exterior lighting systems
  • Communicate information to and from internal and external organizations to ensure seamless collaboration
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering discipline
  • 2+ years of related automotive and/or lighting applications experience
  • Familiarity with the engineering design of exterior lighting components and global lighting regulations
  • Knowledge of plastic materials, plastic injection molding, optics, basic electrical/electronic circuitry, software, lamp manufacturing processes, tooling, fixture design, and product validation
