Job Summary

The Associate Merchandiser is a key member of the Merchandising team, responsible for generating and maintaining seasonal product plans. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with Merchandise Manager to develop and implement successful category strategies, meeting financial objectives.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify product opportunities and trends.
  • Develop and maintain seasonal product plans, line plans, and visual line plans.
  • Collaborate with Product Ops Analysts to ensure efficient communication of assortment changes and timely creation of new product materials.
  • Assist in the Sales and Operations Planning process, analyzing sales, receipts, margin, inventory, and performance to inform planning decisions.
  • Participate in weekly development and production meetings, taking notes and ensuring timely follow-up.
  • Coordinate samples and execute room set-ups for key product meetings.
  • Present seasonal product offerings to various groups within Carhartt as needed.
  • Travel to customers, consumers, and Carhartt-owned retail locations to gain insight into needs and trends.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Apparel/Textile Design, Merchandising, Marketing, or related field.
  • Minimum one year of experience in product management in the apparel industry or related field.
  • Proficient in technology and data analysis tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate data and provide key insights for product management/merchandising.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
Working Conditions

This role is based in a typical office environment, with extended periods of sitting, standing, and typing on a computer. Light lifting may be required, and occasional travel may be necessary. Carhartt is a tobacco-free workplace.
